Yokohama City, a leading hub for mobility innovation, has officially joined forces with The Drivery, a mobility-focused innovation marketplace with an ecosystem for open innovation and venture clienting. The collaboration was solidified with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during a ceremony held on December 6th 2023.

Under the visionary concept of “Mobility Innovation Hub YOKOHAMA,” Yokohama City is committed to fostering an environment that attracts both domestic and international mobility startups. The collaboration with The Drivery, known for its expertise in bringing together startups, engineers, investors, and industry leaders, marks a significant milestone in advancing next-generation mobility technologies and promoting new business creation in the sector.

The MOU outlines key areas of cooperation, including the establishment of a testing environment for innovative solutions, collaboration between mobility startups and major companies, encouragement of participation in startup development programs, and support for the overseas expansion of mobility startups.

During the signing ceremony, Yokohama City Mayor Takeharu Yamanaka expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with The Drivery aligns with our commitment to creating a thriving ecosystem for mobility innovation. Together, we will work towards building the ‘Mobility Innovation Hub YOKOHAMA’ and accelerating the development of cutting-edge solutions.”

Mr. Timon Rupp, Founder & CEO of The Drivery, echoed the sentiment, saying, “Yokohama City’s dedication to advancing mobility innovation aligns seamlessly with The Drivery’s mission.
